By: Cyndi | Date: May 22, 2010 | False Crawl

I'm back from my trip and right into it with a likely looking crawl in 6...an hour of probing and a blister on my probing hand--but no egg chamber we could find. Mebbee she come back tomorrow...

Click the nest total box at top to go to SeaTurtle.org - cool stuff and you can join for free.

The zone and day challenge is on! I think I got the zones right (Buddy?) But for sure the Saturday girls are laying this year.

add to Diane post: Nest 2 momma gave her all - her first attempt at nest chamber she hit a buried log. so she backtracked an nested about 8 ft above shtl. raccoon came after she left but didnt find the eggs. way go girl GOOD JOB.

By: Diane | Date: May 16, 2010 | Nest #2

A false crawl on 4, but just as we were about to leave, got a call that Buddy found Nest 2 on 6 and needed a nest dug on 4. It must have been in a difficult spot because the bucket didn't arrive for quite a while. 117 eggs safely reburied just south of the bath house.

By: MaryAnn Waldrop | Date: May 15, 2010 | NEST # 1

The nest was in Zone 3 near the handicap parking/shower area. It was a great find by Susan Reynolds as "she" came in with the tide last evening and was just about two feet above the high tide line - barely visable tracks. The sad news is that the nest was completely destroyed by racoons. Buddy selected part of a shell for the DNA research project and we sadly collected all of the pieces of the shells.
